The first pilot of MeWe launched as part of Mohsin’s Fulbright scholarship project in Morocco. Over the course of 1 year, MeWe–then called Lollipops Crown Initiative– grew to work with over 200 young migrants, street children and orphans. The project was hosted by youth NGOs, DARNA and Darlekbira. Youth created more than 6 short stories and films, which have been screened at the Cinema Rif theater in Tangier, the United States Institute for Peace, and the World Islamic Economic Forum in Malaysia. Stories of Moroccan youth were also adapted into a theater production by the American theater group Bright Light Theater Company, in Philadelphia.
